A few weeks back I was looking through old issue of scrapbooking magazines and ripping out the few pages I wanted to keep. I found a card in Memory Makers July '05 that I used as the sketch for this card. I like how this card turned out and it was actually pretty simple! It is really bright IRL. I should snap another photo of it, but I've been having so many computer problems today that I just don't feel like dealing with it! She may be wondering if she'll ever get it back! LOL!! And now that I've used it, I dunno if she is. Hehehehe!! This was such a fun card to make and can this little guy be any cuter??? I wish that the set included a little cowgirl, that may have been more appropriate for the cards purpose. Which is: my good friends Drady and Crystal in Texas are throwing a little dinner get together for me. I had suggested we "round up" (sorry, couldn't resist) any of my Texan friends that I miss and meet at a restraunt for dinner. But, Drady and Crystal went to work planning a dinner in Crystals home. So, I'm sending this little card (via email) to invite all the ladies! It's going to be so nice to see them!!

BONUS Day!!

I'm a little bored with my blog! So, BONUS!!! 4 new cards...

Cakeabella ATC Swap Card: Love this patterned paper. It sparkles IRL. Who would have thought that I would like orange? But, I do and Bella's hair is gorgeous this shade! So, it was fun to watercolor. I wish I had those Copic markers everyone is raving about. Shading and combining colors together sounds so fun. I'll have to save up for those since my Stampin' Up! retiring order is going to pretty much be my stamping budget for the month! The apron is paper pieced with patterned paper, the pink scallop is scalloped ribbon and I got to use a pretty blue rhinestone brad!

Bike Card: Well, for those who don't know this is my husbands hobby. Mountain and road biking. He's a bit obsessed, but who am I to point fingers HUH?? This is the card I made him for our 11th Anniversary. Not very romantic to many of us, but I think he appreciated it more than one decked out with paper or fabric flowers and pretty rhinestones! The set RIP AND SHRED is a retired Stampin' Up! set.

The yellow card is one of the easiest ever! Honestly the paper piercing was the most difficult thing and with the Stampin' Up! template it wasn't that hard! I loved watercoloring again. I need to keep in mind how much I enjoy doing that when I buy stamp sets. I need more line art sets... a girl can never have too many! I think I may have got the basic idea for this card off the Splitcoast gallery, but I did so many cards that day, I'm confused.

Three flowers: Last, but one of my favorites, is the first card I made with my Green Thumb stamp set from papertreyinc.com . I think it is sweet. it was a simple one too. Again, the idea or at least in part, may have come from someone on Splitcoast. I will do better at keeping track of that. So, I'll be playing with the Green Thumb set in the near future. I bought the Butterfly Kisses too. My SIL, Michelle, has been using these same sets and has made some fabulous cards. Busy week for me! This is something I've been meaning to upload for awhile now. These are the goody bags I made for Caitlin's birthday party. The party was a spring/butterfly theme. The supplies were Stampin' Up! green galore, appricot appeal and positively pink CS, Bold Butterfly stamp set. I used Basic Brown to stamp the butterflies onto patterned paper and then cut them out. Because I wanted the little antennae, I stamped the same stamps on the green galore and just placed the paper butterflies on top. The tag was made using only punches and a big pop dot.

Finding Joy

This is my take on a Splitcoast sketch challenge (SC126). Challenge # FS18. Here are two versions of this card by Sarah Vrolyk. The card I CASED was this one:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/523079?cat=500&ppuser=378

Isn't it cute??? I liked it immediately and decided to do a quick CASE. I had a lot of trouble finding some monochromatic colors/patterns in my big paper stash. I admitt my scraproom is not the most organized of places and I have patterned paper in many different places. What I found worked out okay. They are growing on me.

Unfortunately the patterned papers were not marked and I'm not sure who manufactured them. I used Very Punny (Stampin' Up!) on the blue card, Not Quite Navy CS, Siglo white gel pen, and this awesome velour ribbon I found at my LSS.

The red card uses the Stampin' Up! sets: So Very and Happy Harmony

How Sweet It Is

Isn't this sweet??? I finally got around to trying out Beate's Triangle Trifold Technique on Splitcoast. A quick card with a lot of style! I used the Stampin' Up set Very Punny, and Bold Alphabet. The lollipop is actually a medium pink (Rose Romance) and then covered with Crystal Effects. The Icicle Stickles are on hand-drawn sparklies and dots. That came out a little clumpy, I have been having major issues with my Stickles lately... Colors: Regal Rose, US White, Tempt. Turquoise, Taken with Teal and Close to Cocoa for the lolli stick!

And here's my sweeties inside...

I just love these colors...

Featured Stamper challege FS17. Here is another CASE of a card in the gallery of Stamps4funinCA (on Splitcoast). I don't know Tosha but, I love her style! Her card was so elegant. See her card here:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=254209

The hardest thing was attaching the ribbon. Patterned paper makes for fast and easy cards, I think. I just LOVE these colors together. If you look real close you can see that I added some paper piercing in the corners of the chocolate chip mat. I was feeling smug about coming up with that idea, it looks really good! :-)

Stamps: Paint Prints, So Very
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Chocolate Chip
CS: PP Magnolia, Chocolate Chip, US White, Not Quite Navy
Other: Hodgepodge Hardware, Turquoise grosgrain ribbon, piercing tool.

Splitcoast Challenges

I've recently discovered that I love to do the Splitcoast challenges! I learn so much from other stampers and it has helped me to be more creative and think "outside the box."

This is for the Featured Stamper challenge FS17. I used this card

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/542811?cat=500&ppuser=66702

made by stamps4funinCA (aka Tosha) because I love it! I'm happy with the way mine turned out. It was the first time I really tried the paper piercing and I just love the details in the corners of the card. I sponged ink over the flowers to give them an aged look that went well witht he card.
